The ancient Greeks used both “black” and “white” magic when casting love spells. A black love spell would have a negative effect on its object, but would draw him or her to the one casting the spell. For example, the spell would make a person fall in love with the one who cast it, but might cause them to suffer by being torn apart from other love ones in the process. The white magic version would only have good effects. It wouldn’t cause any problems for its object; the love spell would simply cause him or her to have loving feelings towards the person who cast it.
