Another way I love to visit our mormon temple in our area is to go with a group of women. I love our sisterhood and we spend some time after the session quietly whispering and discussing any impressions that came to our minds. I loved hearing this one sister’s ideas in particular because she was obsessed with family history, temple work, and mormon temple history. She was just a wealth of information and going to the temple made her positively giddy! Years later she moved to Nauvoo and has such a passion for the area. The temple there was recently restored and is one of the oldest ones.

When I was a kid, maybe about 12 or so, my exmormon dad decided it would be fun to go to the Seattle Art Museum. There were a lot of interesting things, but one floor in particular was filled with disturbing “art” and some things that didn’t look like art at all, but just practice on my canvas. My exmormon dad was horrified by the “art” that depicted silhouettes of certain acts with animals. At that age, I had never heard of such a thing. One painting was completely white. I asked, “What’s that? Snow White in a snow storm?”
